A Boots Blog: Return to Highschool!

I grew up in Perth. Not Perth, Australia, but Perth, Ontario. We like to call it P-dot. Population 6,000. Home of Big Ben and the official Maple syrup, and retirement capital of Ontario. YEEEWW! (Thats a noise we make in Perth when we are excited about something) Try it. Its really really fun.

My family moved to Perth when I was in Grade 5, and I honestly cant think of a better place to grow up.

Last  weekend we went back and performed a show at my old Highschool: PDCI- home of the Blue Devils! Here is the Auditorium:

While wandering around PDCI this weekend, I had a good laugh at this:

Note the top left hand corner.

Here, let me zoom in a bit.

OH YES- student council co-president in all of my white button up shirt glory. Ben Graham and I got to do the morning announcements and encourage people to cheer at the Pep Rallies. Actually kind of similar to what I do now…..

It was really great having my mom at the show to help and do Merch. Its like her oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, that never taste the same if I make them….somehow this merch table looked better than I have ever made it. It’s a moms touch!

She even wore a hat! Thats dedication!

What was the most amazing was being able to see friends from high school and meet their kids, some of them for the first time! It’s so great to see where everyone is at now.
One of my best friends, Kelly, had a baby just last week so i was able to visit her as well. Kelly and I used to say we were going to be the next Dixie Chicks when we grew up.

Here is her baby Maren:

If you are ever driving in the neck of the woods, I encourage you to drop by the little town of Perth. Stop by the GoodWood over for some Pizza. My first and only waitress job was here- I once dropped an entire glass of red wine on a women in a white linen pantsuit. One of my finer moments.

A big shout out to everyone who came out last weekend- it was AMAZING to see you. YEWWWWW!

My good friend Galens Kids: Abby and Sophie after the show.
